Carbon capture and storage
Zurich collaborated with customers, academic experts and government officials to create two products unique in the market: Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) Liability Insurance and the Geological Sequestration Financial Assurance.

Political risk
Zurich offers political risk coverage for carbon credit projects, encouraging investors to get involved in environmentally sustainable projects, leading to reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. The coverage provides protection against the risk of circumstances in the host country preventing investors from receiving related benefits.

Green investments (UK)
Customers of our UK Life business were offered the opportunity to start a "Green Guaranteed Account," linking their investment to the performance of the 30 largest companies listed on the London Stock Exchange operating in the green business sector. This was a tranche-based product, with 2 tranches offered in 2008.
